In order for us to secure meeting and exhibition space of this quality, we must commit to a sizable room block and if we come up “short”, we are contractually obligated to pay for every unused room night at the full price! As you can imagine, that is an incredible financial commitment, one that we are happy to do in order to provide the experience that everyone expects from an SVC TechCon. This year, we have adopted a proactive protocol, first implemented in 2023, that averted the threat of attrition for the first time in over 10 years. Understanding the rationale behind the “process” will help you understand the sequence of events as you secure hotel accommodations and your conference registration.

During conference registration, you’ll be asked for a hotel confirmation code. You’ll need this confirmation code to secure the lower conference rate (a $210 savings). If you did not book your hotel room yet, you’ll have an opportunity to go to the Chicago Hilton site to reserve your room. If you book your hotel room else where, or can not provide the Chicago Hilton confirmation code, you will be directed to a pricing structure that is $210 higher. This policy does not apply to those who register as “exhibit visitors” or “tutorial only” participants. This $210 allows us to establish a reserve that is used to offset any attrition costs we experience and allows all of our conference participants the flexibility to stay at a location of their choosing.

If you register for the conference at the higher rate and subsequently make your hotel reservations at the Chicago Hilton, then we will be delighted to refund the difference directly to you! Just let Jacque Matanis know by email, provide her with your Hilton registration details and the refund will be promptly issued. The easiest thing to do is to plan your schedule for the TechCon before you start the registration process so you can make your hotel registration and conference registration in a streamlined manner.
