After Submission to Elsevier, What Happens Next?

• Once received, the Guest Editors will perform a preliminary screening of the manuscript and decide which manuscripts are to be considered for peer review. Reasons for rejection at this stage may include: not meeting the requirements stated in the Guide for Authors, poor content and/or poorly written. Guest Editors inform the author of a rejected manuscript at this time.
• Once accepted by the Guest Editors for peer review consideration, the manuscript is forwarded to the select referees for consideration. All reviews are communicated to the author by the Guest Editors along with suggested manuscript modifications.
• Manuscript modifications made by the author are returned to the Guest Editors for final review and disposition.
• Authors of accepted manuscripts submit the final version of the manuscript along with the Elsevier copyright form via the EES.
